Northern State Athletics Hall of Fame
An avid supporter of Northern State athletics, William "Bill" Haigh served as the Faculty Athletic Representative for 22 years, more than half of his 40-year career as a mathematics instructor. Haigh, a 1959 graduate of Huron College, came to NSU in 1963 and stayed until his retirement in 2003. He received his master's degree in mathematics from the University of North Dakota in 1964 and his doctorate in mathematics education from Indiana University in 1970. Haigh began his duties as FAR in 1981, continuing in that role through 2003.
Haigh was inducted into the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Hall of Fame in 2005 and was a 2010 inductee into the Northern State Hall of Fame. He continues to reside in Aberdeen and still teaches one mathematics class per semester at NSU.
