Northern State Athletics Hall of Fame
Gordon Groos was a two-sport athlete for the Wolves. Groos was an outstanding defensive tackle, defensive end, and tight end while he played football for NSU. The Wolves compiled a 32-3-2 record and were the SDIC football champions for four traight years during Groos' career with the Wolves from 1966-69. Groos' honors for football include being named to the SDIC All-Conference team, the NAIA District 12 team and being selected as an NAIA All-American.
On the basketball court, Groos was an exceptional player in the forward position. As a member of SDIC and NAIA District 12 championship teams, Groos also got the opportunity to compete in the NAIA nationals.
