Northern State Athletics Hall of Fame
Marry Ann (Carlson) Grage became the second female inductee into Northern State University's athletic Hall-of-Fame. Grage was twice named MVP of the Women's Athletic Association and was a student cabinet member and elected Howling Echo president. She was also crowned Princess Pat, and was named to the Who's WHo in American Colleges and Universities.Â
Grage received her bachelor's degree in physical education from NSU in 1953. She became a tennis coach and volleyball coach while at NDSCS. She compiled an overall 456-188-11 record in winning 1- North Dakota Junior College state titles and three region championships in 1988, 1990 and 1992. Grage was honored as District 6 and Region 13 Coach of the Year. She was also named runner-i[ AVCA Coach of the Year in 1988.Â
Grage is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and Alpha Delta Kappa. She holds U.S. Volleyball Association Level I and Level II certifications.Â
