Northern State Athletics Hall of Fame
Wayne DeVries attended Northern State College and participated in football and basketball. He was a member of the "N" Club and the 1947 Gypsy Days Marshal. He graduated in 1949 with a bachelors degree.
DeVries is a member of the NSC allumni "N" Club, Century Club, the NSC Foundation's Presidents Club, and the Board of Directors of NSC Foundation. He served as president to the NSC Alumni Association in 1961 and was named King of the Gyps in 1964. He served as a member of the Aberden Quarterbacks Club, served as president of the Aberdeen YMCA from 1961 to 1963 and was president of the Aberdeen Jaycees in 1957. DeVries has been active on the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce's Sports and Recreation Committee. He has also bee on the Aberdeen Relays Committee.
DeVries married Barbara and they have four children.
