Northern State Athletics Hall of Fame
Denise earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Biology from NSU in 1992, before returning in 1995 to receive a teaching certificate. As a member of the women's basketball team, Clemens received NSIC All-Conference nominations in 1991 and 1992, was named the NSIC Scholar Athlete, received a District 12 First Team nomination, was the NSU Women's Athlete of the Year in 1992 and an Academic All-American.
Her team won the NAIA National Championship in 1992 and were Northern Sun Conference Champions in 1987-'88 and 1991-'92. Denise, her husband Bill, and their five children Josh, Ashley, Josie, Zachariah, and Will reside in Northville, S.D. where she is a teacher and coach at Northwestern High School.
