Northern State University Athletics

Kathy Graves received her B.S. in Elementary Education and Special Education from Northern in 1975. While at Northern, Kathy was very involved in athletics. She was a member of the women’s basketball team (1970-1974), the volleyball team (1972-1974) and was as pitcher on NSU’s softball team during the inaugural season (1974). After college, Kathy continued her involvement in athletics as a coach at Northwestern High School in Mellette, S.D. Kathy retired from coaching in 2001, but continues her involvement through officiating. She is currently the Northwestern School District K-8 Principal, Special Education Director and District Testing Coordinator.
