Northern State Athletics Hall of Fame
Max Hawk was a student-athlete at Northern State College where he received his bachelors degree in 1957 and masters degree in 1959. He was awarded the Lions Club Award and All-Conference football player at NSC.Â
In 1976, Hawk was elected third vice president of the NHSACA. Hawk has been named the South Dakota High School Football Coach of the Year three times, 1970, 1971, and 1975. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the National High School Athletic Coaches Association in 1976.Â
Hawk married Jane aht they have three children.Â
