Northern State University Athletics

Gene Schlekeway was a member of the 1952-53 SDIC championship basketball team and earned 12 varsity letters.  He was also a member of nine teams that won SDIC titles in his four heras at Northern.  WHile at Northern, the basketball team was 58-33 and won two SDIC titles; the football team went 24-7, won three SDIC titles ans was undefeated in 1953; and the track team won four SDIC crowns.

Schlekeway married Norma Jean Hansen and they have five children.
