Northern State Athletics Hall of Fame
Wendy Swanhorst helped lead the Northern women's basketball team to a third-place finish in the 1981 NAIA National Tournament and an impressive 98-16 mark during her career from 1978-82. As a senior, she captained a team that repeated as District 12 champions and finished second in the region. The center from Cresbard has withstood the test of time in Northern's record books, ranking 26th on Northern's scoring list with 865 points and tied for 16th in rebounding with 614 career boards. She graduated from Northern in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
