Northern State University Athletics

Kerry Johnston made many sports achievements at Northern before earning a bachelor's degree in secondary education in 1971.  Lettering in both football and wrestling during all four years at Northern, Johnston earned several important recognitions, including three years as offensive tackle and playin in four conference championships and inone national playoff.  His wrestling career at NSU speaks for itself.  Johnston was conference heavyweight champion in 1967-68 and 1968-69 and took third in 1969-70 and second place in 1970-71.  Johnston finished at Northern with an individual collegiate record of 51-6.
