Leon Breske was a defensive end on the 1969-72 Wolves football teams.  The three-year letter winner was an All-American honorable mention selection as a senior and named team most valuable defensive player.  His final season also included a national Player of the Week award as well as All-Conference and All-District team honors.  During Breske's career, the Wolves compiled a 30-6-1 record and captured four South Dakota Intercollegiate Conference championships. 

Breske graduated in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in education.  He and his wife, Cathy, have three sons, Nathan, who was the starting quarterback on Northern's 1999 conference Championship team.
