Rod Kutter has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology form NSU. A native of Hecla, S.D., Kutter was a starting defensive safety from 1971-1973 for Northern. While playing for the Wolves, the NSU football team went undefeated in the SDIC. They were 25-5-1 overall and an NAIA national playoff team in 1971.

Kutter earned an honorable mention all-conference selection in 1972 and was an all-district selection in 1973. In 1973 he was chosen as team captain. In '72 and '73 Rod led the team in interceptions. Rod and his wife Bonnie (Engen), who is also a graduate of NSU, have been married 40 years and have three children; Ike, Sara and Abbi and 3 grandchildren. They currently reside in Warroad, Minn.
