Northern State Athletics Hall of Fame
DuWayne Groos played basketball for three years under Coach Bob Wachs. Returing from his military service, Groos returned to NSU to receive his bachelor's degree in political science in 1970. While Groos played for the Wolves he was a member of two South Dakota Intercollegiate Conference championship teams, and set numerous records in rebounding and scoring.
Groos is a member of the S.D. High School Coaches Association, the National High School Athletic Coaches Association and is active in the American Legion. Groos has also bee inducted into the S.D. Amateur Basketball Hall-of-Fame.
