Barb Felderman becomes the fourth woman inducted into the Hall of Fame, but is the first Northern female athlete.  Felderman was a member of the first NSU women's basketball team in 1970 and went on to letter in basketball, track, field hockey and volleyball.  During her senior season, the track team finished second in the state meet where she placed second in the javelin; the filed hockey team was 2-2 and she tied for the scoring title with three goals; the volleyball squad went 5-5 and finished fifth at the state tournament; and the basketball team was 7-3.

Felderman earned a bachelor's degree majoring in health and physical education in 1973.  She spent eight years coaching track, volleyball and gymnastics at Kadoka and Pierre high schools.  Felderman also coached softball at Ball State University in Indiana. 

Felderman was appointed the first woman coach in the history of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1981.  She coached the women's volleyball and basketball programs until last season when she concentrated on basketball.  Felderman has coached seven SDIC volleyball championship teams including a string of five in a row from 1984-1988.  The 1987 volleyball squad was named the college team of the year by the state sportswriters. 

Honors include: SDIC volleyball coach of the year six times and SDIC basketball coach of the year three times.  Felderman is a member of the Rapid City Sports Hall of Fame and the South Dakota Softball Association Hall of Fame.
