Don Bunt attended Northern State College and received his bachelor of science degree in 1932.  While at Northern, Bunt became known as a well-rounded athelete.  He took part in various sports including football, basketball, and track.  In football, he was an outstanding offensive player at quarterback and end positions.  In track, he was a javelin champion.  Bunt was an excellent basketball player and was the youngest of three brothers on the team. 

Bunt was a member of several educational organizations, president of the Washington Association of Secondary Principals in 1958, president of Kiwanis Club, Thurston Country Chairman for the March of Dimes for eight years, as well as servin on the United Methodist church board.

Bund married Myrtle E. Knuston and they have three children and one grandchild.
