Rich (Andy) Andrzejewski, a 1974 graduate of Northern State, was named Northern’s All-Around Male Athlete of the Century. Andrzejewski was selected to All-Conference and All-District teams in football, basketball and baseball. He placed in the conference and district high jump events all four years. Andrzejewski is the only collegiate athlete in South Dakota history to earn 16 varsity letters. He was selected South Dakota College Athlete of the Year in 1972.

Upon graduation, Andrzejewski held several football records, finished in the top-10 all-time scorers in basketball, held the school high jump record and finished his senior season in baseball with a 1.38 ERA overall and a 0.9 ERA in conference play. He appeared in Sports Illustrated “Faces In The Crowd” and was the lead sports story on a Paul Harvey National News Broadcast. He was honored with “Rich Andrzejewski Day at Northern” in May, 1974. Rich is a member of the NSU Hall of Fame, SDIC Hall of Fame, South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame and South Dakota High School Basketball Hall of Fame.
 
Rich and his wife Mary, have two children and three grandchildren.
