Northern State Athletics Day of Champions

Northern State University athletics and the United Way of Northeastern South Dakota partner each year for the annual Day of Champions volunteer service event. May 3, 2025 marked the 23rd installment for the organizations. The Day of Champions started in 2002 as a collaborative effort between the NSU Athletic Department and the United Way where Wolves student-athletes give back to the region through a day of volunteering. Since 2002, a total of 3,400 Northern State student-athletes, coaches, and staff have worked on over2910 projects. Those individuals have racked up over 22,200 hours of labor, equating to $375,602 worth of donated labor.
