Northern State University Athletics

Loren Kambestad's cross-country and track and field achievements highlight his time at Northern State University, but his post-collegiate years also earned him recognition in his field of physical education.  From 1970-74, Kambestad earned best times in the 880 and the one-, two-, three-, and six-mile races.  He finished with individual best time for the 880 in 1:56.7 and the six-mile with 29:42.8.  He won both SDIC and NAIA District 12 championship titles in the three-mile and six-mile and cross-country competitions.  He placed sixth in the two-mile at the NAIA Nationals.  Kambestad finished his collegiate years with 13 cross-country titles.
