Northern State Athletics Hall of Fame
Michelle (Cox) Hammer played basketball for northern from 1984-88. As a senior, Hammer was the leading scorer on a Northern Sun Conference champion team that was nationally ranked all season and set what was then a program-best 28-3 record. She earned a spot on the NAIA all-District 12 Team her senior year. A three-year all-conference performer, Hammer finished her career ranked fourth on the NSU charts in rebounding (899) and seventh in scoring (1,328).
She earned her bachelor's in 1988 from Northern. Hammer and her husband, Blane, were married in 1992. Together they have three sons, Justin, Ellis and Dane.
