Vince Johnson was a member of three SDIC Championship Football teams during his football career at Northern. The 1965, 1966 and 1967 squads all won Conference titles. Johnson's football honors began his first season when he was selected to the All-SDIC squad. His junior season he was again named to the All-SDIC and All-District teams. His senior year, he earned his fourth All-SDIC honor, his third All-District selection and added second team NAIA All-American honors as a defensive back. Johnson was also a Gypsy Day marshal candidate. Johnson earned a bachelor's degree from Northern State in 1968.
