Northern State University Athletics

Yvonne Freese was a dual sport athlete out of Lanesboro, MN. She participated in basketball and track and field while at NSU. She was a successful thrower for the Wolves as she tallied 40 top ten finishes in her career while taking first place eight times. In 2012 she was the Outdoor NSIC Champion in discus. She qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in discus in 2012 and 2013, where he took 4^th and 6^th places respectively, earning All-American honors both years. Yvonne still holds the NSU school outdoor record in discus with 48.49m. She shared the women’s team MVP title in 2012 and 2013 with Melodi Boke and Jill Schaefer.
