2016: Doherty started all 11 games for the Wolves at tight end, leading the team with 543 yards receiving. The senior and previous 3-time all-conference honoree averaged 49.4 yards per game with eight touchdowns. Doherty averaged 14.7 yards per reception, and surpassed the 2,000 yard career receiving mark this season. He also tallied 12 yards on kick returns for the Wolves. Doherty was also named first team All-NSIC and a CoSIDA Academic All-American

2014: Started all 11 games for the Wolves as a sophomore… Tallied three tackles… Led the team with 51 receptions for 718 yards and six touchdowns… Recorded two touchdowns versus Minot State and St. Cloud State… Tallied a season high 175 yards versus St. Cloud State… Returned two kicks… Named NSIC All-Conference first team North Division, second team All-Super Region three, to the Don Hansen All-Super Region team
 
2013: All-NSIC North First Team selection … only freshman in the league to be selected All-NSIC First Team … played in all 11 games and made nine starts … second in the league amongst tight ends in catches (42), yards (559) and touchdowns (6) … led the team in receptions, yards and touchdowns … averaged 13.3 yards per catch and 50.8 yards receiving per game … had five or more catches in four games … had six catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns in Northern’s 28-0 win over Minnesota, Crookston (11/9)
