Northern State University Athletics

Amanda Madden was a 2010 graduate of Northern State University and a decorated track and field athlete. In her four year career, Madden tallied nine All-NSIC honors, five NCAA All-American honors, three NCAA All-Academic, and three NSU Track and Field MVP honors. The thrower was a 2-time national champion in the weight throw and the hammer, and was named the 2010 Northern State Hildred Wolfe Outstanding Athlete. She is a school record holder in both the weight throw and the hammer. Upon her graduation, Madden tallied the seventh best throw in the history of the NCAA in the hammer. She also swept the weight throw field, as each of her four marks would have won the national championship.
