Northern State University Athletics

Harlan Krein was a defensive lineman for the Wolves football team and was named All-SDIC his junior and senior years. He earned the NAIA All-American honors in 1958. Krein earned his master’s degree from Northern in 1964 while he was a teacher at Groton and Webster high schools. He went on to teach at the University of North Dakota-Ellendale and Peru State College. He was inducted into the Northern State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984.

Krein is a charter member of the Wolves Club. He and his wife, Lorraine Pfeiffer have three children.
