Pat Connell was a wrestler from Yankton, SD. In 1994 he was crowed conference champion as a sophomore and took 8^th at the national tournament in the 167 pound weight class. The following season, he qualified for the national tournament again and took 6^th in the 177 pound weight class. As a senior in 1996 he wrestled for the Wolves in their inaugural NCAA Division II season.
