Bill Christensen was a left-handed sharp shooter who played four seasons (1971-75) as a starter for Coach Bob Wachs. Christensen was named to the honorable mention all-district team his sophomore year. His senior year, Christensen compiled his career with 1,865 points averaging 20 points per game. At the time of his graduation, Christensen was ranked third for Northern's leading scorer. He led the Wolves in scoring for three seasons and was selected a captain three times. His collegiate honors included NSU's Outstanding Male Athlete, Who's Who in College Athletics and a special merit award from the NAIA for basketball achievement. He was named to the All-SDIC and All-District teams and was mentioned in the Little All-American team. Christensen has been inducted into the South Dakota State Amateur Basketball Hall of Fame.
