Crystal Kuyper was a dual sport athlete at Northern. She was a member of the cross country and track and field teams. She graduated in 1993 with a degree in Health/Physical Education.
In 1989 she helped the woman’s team win their first meet in several years at the DSU Invitational by placing 11th. In 1991, she helped her team finish 4th at the NIC and District 12 meet. She finished 15th overall at the conference meet.
On the track side, she finished 6th in the marathon at the NAIA National Outdoor Meet to garner her All-American honors. That same season she was voted Most Improved Women's Athlete of the year.Â
