Cole Huss earned the first All-American honor of his career at the 2022 NCAA Wrestling National Championships. The Nebraska native tallied back-to-back All-American honors with the accolades earned at the 2023 NCAA Wrestling National Championships as well. 

In 2022, Huss went 3-2 overall in the tournament with a fourth place finish. On day one he recorded two upset wins over 7-seed, Joel Leise of Gannon, in the sudden victory round with a score of 3-1 and 2-seed Noah Ryan of St. Cloud State, 6-4 in overtime. He opened day with a 6-3 decision loss to 3-seed Derek Blubaugh of Indianapolis in the semifinal round. The Gretna native then took on the 8-seed, Gino Sita of Alderson Broaddus, and notched a victory by fall with just seconds remaining in regulation, before dropping the third place match to 5-seed Nicholas Mason of Tiffin by fall at 6:34. Huss concluded the 2022 campaign with a 15-5 record overall. 

On day one of the 2023 championships, Huss went 2-1 overall. He recorded wins over Bryce Walker of UNC Pembroke (Fall 7:56) and Anthony Yacovetti of Lander (Dec 8-2). Huss medically forfeited his Saturday matchs, ultimately taking eighth overall.
