Multiple Event Champions at the Dewey Donat Classic

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University track and field teams competed in the final day of the Dewey Donat Classic. The Wolves notched 13 first place finishes and 44 top-five finishes.
 
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
 
  • Birnir Vagn Finnsson finished in second place in the decathlon with 5,713 points and marks of 11.28 in the 100m, 6.56m in the long jump, 11.07m in shot put, 1.83m in high jump, 53.30 in the 400m, 15.75 in the 110m hurdles, 28.64m in discus throw, 4.15m in pole vault, and 42.14m in javelin throw
  • Sean Juengst placed fourth with 5,094 points and marks of 12.53 in the 100m, 5.79m in the long jump, 9.64m in shot put, 1.74m in high jump, 57.86 in the 400m, 19.76 in the 110m hurdles, 29.50m in discus throw, 3.85m in pole vault, 42.44m in javelin throw, and 4:54.05 in the 1500m
  • Ross Kortenbusch took fifth place with 4,926 points and marks of 11.74 in the 100m, 5.45m in the long jump, 11.77m in shot put, 1.65m in high jump, 54.99 in the 400m, 21.49 in the 110m hurdles, 37.44m in discus throw, 3.15m in pole vault, 36.25m in javelin throw, and 5:25.39 in the 1500m
  • Evan Halbe won the 10,000m distance event in 33:13.85 and Taylor Thorson placed fourth in a time of 33:50.84
  • Ethan Barnett took first place in shot put with a throw of 14.23m
  • Treyson Schulz placed first in triple jump with a mark of 13.35m and third in long jump with a distance of 6.59m
  • Vance Borchers and Eli Radtke placed third and fourth in the high jump with heights of 1.86m and 1.76m
  • Levi Reis, Damon Roggenbuck, and Carson Barnett took second, third, and seventh with marks of 58.16m, 57.44m, and 50.97 in the javelin throw
  • The men's 4x100m relay placed first with a time of 42.23 with athletes Chris Weber, Joel Matehs, Noah Bayer, and Ty Kadlec
  • Nathan Alto was the runner up in the 1500m race with a time of 3:58.66
  • Joel Matehs and Eli Radtke swept first and second in the 110m hurdles with times of 14.84 and 15.69
  • Drew Salfrank, Seth Martens, and Carter Dingman placed second, third, and eighth clocking times of 48.22, 48.69, and 50.94 in the 400m
  • Chris Weber, Noah Bayer, placed first and sixth in the 100m with times of 10.58, 10.93, and 11.16
  • Josh Martin took first place in the 800m clocking 1:54.50
  • Dylan Schimke, Jonathan Burkhalter, Dalton Fleckenstein, and Turner Thorson placed third, fourth, fifth, and ninth in the 800m with times of 1:57.05, 1:57.43, 1:57.54, and 2:00.05
  • Drew Henriksen and Joel Matehs placed second and seventh in the 400m hurdles with times of 55.21 and 57.71
  • Jacob Angerhofer won the 5,000m run in a time of 16:19.26
  • Men's 4x400m clocked a time of 3:25.30 with athletes Drew Salfrank, Carter Dingman, Drew Henriksen, and Seth Martens
