2025-26: Competed in 11 meets for the Wolves… Recorded career personal bests in the mile (4:48.22), 1500m (4:36.22), 3000m (9:18.29), and 5000m (16:05.81)… Won the 5000m at the U-Mary Winter Classic and Dewey Donat Classic… Added runner-up finishes in the 5000m at the Mount Marty Twilight, and fourth-place finishes in the mile against Jamestown and the 3000m at the SDSU Last Chance…Tallied seven top-10 finishes on the season… Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence…

2024-25: Did not compete… Honored NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence… 

2023-24: Competed in six meets for the Wolves… Ran to personal bests in the 3000m (9:29.38), 5000m (17:05.06), and 10,000m (33:50.84)…

2022-23: Ran to a personal best of 4:56.05 in the mile… Did not compete during the outdoor season…

Prep: Taylor Thorson is a 6-foot-3 distance runner out of Ipswich High School. He is a 5-year letter winner and 3-year team captain for the Tigers under the direction of Todd Thorson, competing in both track and field and cross country. Thorson is a 3-time state cross country qualifier, medaling in 2019. In addition, he qualified for the state track and field meet in 2021. He is the son of Northern State track and field / cross country alumni Todd and Crystal Thorson.
