Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams travel to Fargo this Friday February 2^nd and Saturday February 3^rd to compete in the Bison Open in the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility. Competition will begin on Friday with the women's pentathlon at 12 p.m. and Men's heptathlon at 1:30 p.m. followed by field events at 3 p.m. and running events at 3:30 p.m. Saturday's meet will resume with the heptathlon at 11 a.m. continuing with the field events at 1 p.m. and running events starting at 1:30 p.m.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

• The Wolves competed at the SDSU D2 Open meet
• Men placed second and women took fourth in team scores
• Three records were broken which included the Men's 4x400m relay with athletes Drew Salfrank, Joel Matehs, Carter Dingman, and Seth Martens; the men's 4x800m relay featuring Josh Martin, Ricky Berndt, Dylan Schimke, and Dalton Fleckenstein; and Megan Pickering in the one-mile event
• Sam Tremelling hit the provisional mark in pole vault ranking him 35^th in the nation
• Birnir Vagn Finnsson also hit the provisional mark last weekend in the heptathlon placing him 22^nd in the nation
• Events winners from last week were Men's 4x400, Drew Henriksen (300m hurdles), Nick Olson (weight throw) Sam Tremelling (Pole Vault), and Megan Pickering (5000m)
