OUTDOOR REGULAR SEASON COMES TO AN END IN VERMILLION

Vermillion, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field team wrapped up their regular season on Saturday after day two of the South Dakota Challenge. The Wolves end the outdoor regular season with several top-7 placers and new personal records.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
  • Levi Reis took the top spot in the men's javelin throw with his 63.00m mark; Marcus Garza (42.75m) got fifth and Ross Kortenbusch (41.36m) finished sixth
  • Recording a personal best and earning a provisional mark in the high jump was Martins Ogedenbe-Dobies for his 2.03m leap; he placed second
  • Second place in the men's 100m was taken by Chris Weber's 10.52 time; he earned a provo mark
  • The 400m event saw Drew Salfrank run a 47.54 to place third; he broke a school record with this time, was previously 47.88 set in 2017
  • 21.68 in the 200m placed Drew Henriksen in third
  • Henriksen ran a 54.87 400m hurdles to take third while Gracen Hansen ran a 55.78 time to get sixth
  • The team of Salfrank, Weber, Jayden Munroe, and Ty Kadlec notched a top-3 placing in the 4x100m relay with their time of 41.16
  • The 10.67 time in the 100m by Julian Scott was enough for him to finish fourth; fifth went to Kadlec and his 10.81 time
  • Elias Londahl's took sixth in the 110m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 16.43
  • Also in the high jump was Londahl in sixth at 1.93m and Jeffery Boschee in seventh at 1.88m
  • Taking sixth and seventh in the shot put were Chanden Nieman and Kortenbusch; they had marks of 13.18m and 12.84m respectively
  • Seventh in the 400m went to Geoffrey Mannino who crossed the line in 49.68
  • Scott notched a seventh place finish with his 21.85 time in the 200m
 
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • Salfrank recorded a personal record for his 47.54 time in the 400m
  • Also in the 400m was Mannino's pr of 49.68
  • Londahl set a new best in the 110m hurdles with his 16.43 time
  • The 100m performance from Scott earned him a new pr
  • Turner Thorson (1:58.22) and Zachary Terrio (1:58.50) ran personal bests in the 800m
 
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
  • First place in the 400m hurdles went to Renea Taylor; her 59.05 time notched her a personal record and a provisional mark, ranking 10th in the nation
  • Taylor also took the gold in the women's 100m, she timed an 11.78 and earned a provisional mark
  • Four Wolves finished in the top-5 in the women's javelin throw; Macoya Hansen took first (38.93m), Jordan West in third (37.05m), Natalia Szybinska was fourth (36.20m), and Grace Kuch placed fifth (35.46m)
  • A jump of 1.61m in the high jump earned Tayla Dobrenski third place; Morgan Sheldon tied for seventh with her 1.51m jump
  • Bekah Walz notched a fourth place finish in the pole vault with a 3.81m mark; Liz Dunham came in seventh at 3.36m
  • The discus event also saw four NSU athletes place in the top-6; second went to Andi Mehrer (44.79m), in fourth was Brooke Mushatt (39.33m), finishing fifth was Chloe Peterson (36.94m), and sixth place went to Payge Bakker (34.63m)
  • Four more Wolves placed in the top-7 in the shot put event; Kuch came in second (13.20m), Mehrer was fourth (11.58m), Peterson in fifth (11.33m), and seventh went to Bakker (10.20m)
  • Julia Skari ran a 14.82 in the 100m hurdles to secure seventh place
 
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • Earning a provisional mark and a personal record in the discus was Mehrer and her 44.79m throw
  • Szybinska's 36.20m javelin mark earned her a personal best
  • Elisabet Osk Jonsdottir set a new pr in the 400m hurdles with her 1:04.24 time
  • 1:04.83 got Skari a personal best in the 400m hurdles
  • Also in the 400m hurdles was Emma Hunt and her pr time of 1:08.32
