Northern Swimming Records Four Lifetime Bests as They Fall to MSU Moorhead

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State swimming dropped their final home dual of the year to NSIC opponent MSU Moorhead on Friday evening, while having four swimmers record lifetime bests.

HOW IT HAPPENED
· NSU recorded 16 top-3 finishes and three event wins on the evening
· The Wolves started the dual off with a 200-yard medley relay composed of Emma Murdock, Annalise Bishop, Lauren Forsyth, and Cassie Williams placing second with a time of 1 minute and 55.40 seconds
· Northern State also locked in a third-place finish in the 200-medley relay with Hannah Kiernan, Delanee Grier, Lexie Malimanek, and Melani Mercer finishing in 1:59.43
· Delaney Ryken recorded the first event win for the Wolves in the 1000 free with a time of 11:16.66
· In the 200 free Connor Doran finished with a time of 2:01.47 for second place
· Josie Gillund added four points for NSU placing second in the 50 free with a time of 25.39
· Marialuisa Avila added another three points in the 50 free as she took third with a time of 25.46
· Forsyth and Kiernan went one and two in the 200 IM adding a combined 13 points for NSU, Forsyth swam a lifetime best on 2:19.36 and Kiernan was close behind for second place with a time of 2:21.16
· Forsyth and Malimanek placed second and third in the 200 fly with times of 2:20.00 and 2:26.16 respectively
· Northern State gained seven points in the 100 free as Gillund placed second with a time of 55.26, and Doran place third with a time of 55.36
· The Wolves saw two more lifetime bests in the 200 back with Kiernan taking second with a time of 2:16.29 and Melani Mercer finishing fourth with a new lifetime best of 2:19.64
· Ryken added four points in the 500 free with a time of 5:27.17
· Grier placed third in the 200 breast with 2:34.92, only .06 second shy of second place
· The Wolves in the final race of the dual took first with Ryken, Doran, Gillund, and Avila combining for a time of 3:37.38
· Northern State also took third in the last relay of the evening with a time of 3:55.93, composed of Kristen Colingwook, Megan Pattee, Maycie Olson, and Shayna Asuncion
 
BEYOND THE RESULTS
·       NSU had four lifetime bests on the evening with Mercer (200 back), Kiernan (200 back), Pattee (1000 free), and Forsyth (200 IM)
 
UP NEXT
Northern State will have next week off from competition before they head to Rochester, Minn. for the Rochester Invite.  The Invite will begin on Friday December 6th and run through Sunday December 8th
