Prep: Matt Poirier is a 6-foot, right handed pitcher and outfielder out of Clayton Heights Secondary. He also played volleyball and basketball at Clayton Heights. Poirier was a two year member of the North Delta Blue Jays Club in Delta, British Columbia. The Blue Jays are a member of the Premier Baseball League which houses both college and men's teams. In 2016, Poirier went 5-3 with a 2.66 ERA. He threw 44.2 innings with 30 strikeouts and a .286 opponent average. He is the son of Kathryn and Steven Poirier.
