2019: Appeared in 39 games and started in 30 games as a Sophomore… Recorded a .202 batting average with four doubles, five home runs, 14 runs batted in, and 13 walks… Against Augustana went 2-3 with a home run that helped the Wolves upset the Vikings…

2018: Appeared in 22 games for the Wolves, started seven games... Hit .171 with six hits with 35 at-bats... Recorded five doubles, one home run, and three walks... Recorded 11 putouts at first base...

Prep: Sam McMacken is a 6-foot-3, first basemen out of Brookings High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Bobcats under head coach Ryan Bauer. McMacken was named to the All-State first team in both 2015 and 2016 after hitting .365 and .405 with a combined ten homeruns, 19 doubles, ten triples, 80 RBI, and 67 runs scored. Brookings won the South Dakota State Championship in both 2015 and 2016 as well. He is the son of Craig and Susan McMacken.
