2018: Appeared in 40 games for the Wolves, started 37 games in center field. Hit .315 with 39 hits in 124 at-bats, eight doubles, two triples, and 12 RBI... Added 16 walks, 64 putouts, six assists, and five errors... Recorded a five hit game on March 30 against Northwest Missouri State scoring two runs, one RBI, and one double...

Pre-NSU: Justin Barreneche is a 5-foot-11, outfielder out of Barbara Goleman Senior High and St. Cloud Technical and Community College. As a prep, Barreneche was a 2-year starter for the Gators hitting .420 with 68 hits, 28 stolen bases, 33 RBI, 49 runs, 22 doubles, and one homerun. He was a member of the 6A-16 All-District team in 2015. With St. Cloud Tech, Barreneche hit .387 with 55 hits, 33 runs scored, 25 RBI, and 15 stolen bases a season ago. He was named to the MCAC All-Division Team and All-MCAC team as SCTCC went 35-8 finishing second in the region. Barreneche was also perfect on defense, without giving up an error on the year. He is the son of Yadira Tellez and brother of former NSU student-athlete Mikey Barreneche.
