Recorded 12 games with multiple hits, including his best 4-for-5 performance against Wayne State on May 10, recording a home run that broke the school record in home runs... 2017: Started 48 games for the Wolves… Named NCBWA, D2CCA, and ABCA All-Region second team... Named NSIC All-Conference first team... Led the team with a .347 average, 58 hits, 46 runs scored, 14 doubles, four triples, 15 homeruns, 57 RBI, and a .749 slugging percentage… Added ten walks and three stolen bases… Tallied 17 games with multiple hits, including a season best 5-for-5 against Oklahoma Panhandle on March 11 hitting for the cycle… Added two multiple homerun games against Minnesota Duluth on May 6 and U-Mary on April 14… Went on a 14-game hit-streak through April… Tied the single season RBI record with 57… Broke the career triples recording, bringing his total to 11… Tied the career runs scored record with 140… Led the NSIC in slugging percentage and runs batted in… Second in the league in homeruns, total bases, and hit-by-pitch…
2016: Appeared in 44 games for the Wolves, making 43 starts… Third on the team with a .360 average… Added 58 hits, 44 runs scored, 44 RBI, ten doubles, and 14 walks… Led the team with four triples and 12 homeruns… Slugged a team leading .696 and added three stolen bases… Tallied 13 games with two hits or more… Recorded 70 putouts and six assists with a .974 fielding percentage…
2015:Â Started in 48 of 53 games as a true Freshman ... Broke the school record in hits with 71 ... Â Hit .382 for the year with a team leading 14 homeruns and 52 RBIs...
Before NSU: A four-sport star for the Cavaliers, Lorenz played in two state baseball and basketball tournaments and also ran at three state track meets. Lorenz was also a two-time All-State punter for the Roncalli football team. In 2013 with the Aberdeen Smittys, Lorenz had a monster year batting .521 with a .777 slugging percentage. Lorenz also had an on-base percentage of .554 and recorded 30 extra-base hits (16 doubles, 10 triples and 4 home runs) and drove-in 68 RBIs in 51 games with the Smittys. Lorenz was also a terror on the base-paths as he had 15 steals on 16 attempts and also scored 67 runs during the season.
