Wolves Track Concludes the Regular Season with Mark Improvements

Vermillion, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams closed out the regular season today at the USD Tune-up. One school record fell on the day, while the Wolves recorded multiple national provisional marks.
 
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jordan Menken took 14th in the discus throw, tossing 42.06m (138-00)
  • Kealy Hill and Jordyn Huneke were two of six competitors who jumped 3.95m (12-11.50) in the pole vault to tie for first
  • Christine Nefgzer and Kenzee Danielson tied for 12th in the pole vault with a 3.50m (11-05.75) mark
  • Rachel Guthmiller took sixth in the javelin, throwing 37.06m (121-07.25)
  • The 4x100m relay team of Isabel Kinzer, Shona Juliana, Makenna Larson, and Shanice Burrell took second with a school record time of 47.35
  • Jennifer Clark took tenth in the 1500m run, crossing the finish line in 4:52.00
  • Burrell recorded her first national provisional mark of the outdoor season in the 100m hurdles, taking fourth overall with a time of 14.19
  • Emma Rezac ran to a sixth place finish in the 400m with a time of 58.78
  • Kinzer added an individual third place finish in the 400m hurdles, notching a time of 1:03.50
  • Jordyn Sterud took fourth in the 5000m run with a time of 18:42.72
  • Livia Wallace tallied a sixth place finish in the 3000m steeplechase, crossing the finish line with a time of 12:50.58
 
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Tanner Berg won the hammer throw, notching a 65.63m (215-04) mark, followed by Nick Olson in 14th, throwing 50.53m (165-09.50)
  • Bryce Malsam and Kelson Brewer placed eighth in the pole vault, clearing 4.41m (14-05.75)
  • Darrian Hood took fourth, jumping 6.69m (21-11.50) in the long jump
  • With a 45.52m (149-04.25) throw, Berg took ninth in the discus
  • Berg and Olson added fifth and 13th place finishes in the shot put, throwing 16.74m (54-11.25) and 14.25m (46-09.00)
  • Austin Holt took eighth in the javelin with a 39.64m (130-00.75) toss
  • The 4x100m relay squad of Tafara Hondonga, Isaiha Fletcher, Riley Gauer, and Dakota Larson took fifth with a time of 42.96
  • Jorge Garcia ran to a time of 4:04.10 in the 1500m run
  • Larson and Fletcher took ninth and 13th in the 100m with times of 11.20 and 11.38 respectively
  • Brewer added a fourth place finish in the 400m hurdles, recording a time of 54.24
  • Seth Martens and Fletcher placed ninth and 12th in the 200m with times of 21.90 and 22.27
  • Jalen Chase and Ricardo Chase led the way for the Wolves in the 5000m, taking fifth and seventh with times of 16:21.47 and 16:39.92
