Bismarck, N.D. – The Northern State men's and women's track and field teams put together strong performances from the Marauder Open. The men won the invitational, defeating UMary, Dickinson State, and Minot State, while the women finished as the runner-up.

WOMEN'S TOP RESULTS
- Jordyn Sterud won the mile, crossing the finish line at 5:34.29
- After qualifying for finals, Shanice Burrell and Dakota Hutzler took second and third in the 60m hurdles with times of 9.12 and 9.27
- Isabel Kinzer brought home a third place finish in the 400m, with a time of 1:00.47
- Mary Franssen took third in the 800m, finishing with a time of 2:33.20
- Jennifer Clark took second in the 1000m, crossing the finish line in 3:07.42
- The 4x400m relay team of Kinzer, Hutzler, Makenna Larson, and Emma Rezac took second with a time of 4:08.50
- Jordyn Huneke notched her second pole vault victory of the year, clearing 3.67m
- Huneke was followed by Kenzee Danielson and Christine Nefzger in second and third with marks of 3.37m
- Jordan Menken recorded a third place finish in the weight, throwing 14.25m, and went on to win the shot put with a 12.95m toss
MEN'S TOP RESULTS
- Jalen Chase and Ricardo Chase finished second and third in the mile, with times of 4:49.80 and 4:54.22 respectively
- Dakota Larson continued his event wins, taking the 60m dash with a time of 7.14
- Terry Towah added to the Wolves win column, recording a time of 50.49 in the 400m
- Tafara Hondonga raced to an event win in the 600m, finishing in 1:24.81, followed by Caleb Schlekeway in third with a time of 1:33.09
- Donovan Miller added to the top-3 distance performances in the 800m, notching a time of 2:06.63 in third
- Jackson Harrison won the 3000m by nearly seven seconds, crossing the finish line in 8:43.98 which register as both a personal record for Harrison and a facility record at UMary
- Northern took second in the 4x400m relay, with the team of Hondonga, Maxwell Geditz, Ronald Stephenson, and Towah finishing in 3:28.86
- Tanner Berg won the weight throw, improving his mark from a weekend ago with an automatic qualifying mark of 21.28m
- Berg also won the shot put, throwing 15.98m
- Zach Burns finished third in the pole vault, clearing 3.96m

"On both the men's and women's sides we competed well. We were neck and neck with UMary. It was nice to see some different competition and be in that competitive environment. We went out and battled today and put up some good times and marks."

Northern State heads to the SDSU Jim Emmerich Invite next Saturday in Brookings. Competition kicks off at 1 p.m. with the field events.
