Wolves Swimming has Strong Day Three With five swimmers in the top-15 of NSIC

Rochester, Minn. – Northern State swimming concludes the Rochester Invite placing 9th with a total of 511 points.  Finishing ahead of NSIC foe Southwest Minnesota State.

DAY THREE HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Wolves end day three strong with 53 season bests and 18 lifetime personal bests with seven student-athletes advancing to the finals Sunday evening
  • Lauren Forsyth and Hannah Kiernan both place in the 200 IM at 19th and 23rd respectively
  • Delaney Ryken records a season best in the 100 free as she places 22nd bringing the Wolves six points
  • Josie Gillund takes 19th and a season best in the 100 free
  • Connor Doran brings home 15 points in the 100 free for NSU as she places 12th
  • Marialuisa Avila placed eighth in the 100 free scoring 22 points for Northern State
  • The 400 free relay teams placed four of five
  • Relay team A composed of Avila, Murdock, Duran, and Gillund took 11th
  • Relay team B took 17th composed of Ryken, Mercer, Asuncion, and Williams
  • The C relay team of Malimanek, Collingwood, Pattee, and Forsyth placed 21st
  • The D relay team placed 23rd composed of Kiernan, Turner, Davis, and Olson
  • Kiernan after her season best and lifetime best in the 200 back she currently ranks 15th amongst NSIC teams
  • Grier places 12th in the 200 breast scoring 15 team points and ranking her 13th in the conference
  • Asuncion in the 200 breast has a new season best as she places 14th and also places her 14th in the NSIC
  • Forsyth has a new season and lifetime best in the 100 fly as she finishes in 11th place
  • Forsyth is currently ranked ninth in the NSIC
  • Currently sitting in eighth place for the conference is Avila in the 100 fly as she takes a 10th place finish on day three of the Rochester Invite
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • Over the weekend the Wolves recorded 126 season best times
  • Swimming 44 lifetime best times
  • Also recording 2 freshmen records
UP NEXT
The Wolves are back in action after Christmas break as they take on the Cougars.  The first race is set to take off the blocks at 2:30 p.m. on January 11th from Sioux Falls
