Northern State University Athletics

Junior (Track): Finished the indoor season with a personal best of 9:05.36 for 3000m at the University of Nebraska tune-up and 15:39.59 for 5000m at the NSIC Championships before injury held him out of the outdoor season.

Junior (XC): Team leader in 4 of 6 meets. Personal best 8k of 26:19 at the USF Invite, finished 18th in 26:49 at the NSIC Championships earning NSIC All-Conference 2nd team honors, 59th at the NCAA II Central Region Championships. 

Sophomore (Track): Finished 7th in the Indoor NSIC Championships 5k with a personal best of 15:40.34. Scored 7th in both the 5000m and 10,000m runs in the Outdoor NSIC Championships…season bests of 4:31 (Mile) 9:09 (3000m), 15:29 (5000m) and 32:52 (10,000m)
Sophomore (XC): Scored in all 6 races, 32nd at the NSIC Championships with an 8k PR of 27:15, 66th at the NCAA II Central Region Championships running 34:02.

Freshman (Track): Competed in the 3000m and Mile indoors...competed in the Mile at the NSIC Indoor Championships.  Competed in the 5000m at the outdoor NSIC Championships…season bests of 9:12 (3000m), 16:08 (5000m). 

Freshman (XC): Competed in 6 meets with 8K PR of 28:15 and 10K PR of 34:57.

High School: Cross Country: Competed in 3 state meets, placed 39th, 8th, and 2nd.  2 time winner of Great Plains' Panther Award (for Christian leadership on and off the field) and 1 time MVP.  Best high school 5K time 16:24. Track and Field: Competed in 3 state events over 2 years.  Placed 12th in 3200M junior year.  7th in the 1600M and 4th in the 3200M senior year.  Was named MVP 1 year and Panther Award winner 1 year.  High School bests: 2:06 (800M), 4:45 (1600M), 10:20 (3200M)
 
Personal: John is the son of Dennis and Cheryl Rawerts (Aberdeen, SD)…has 1 brother and 1 sister…Majoring in History and Accounting.
