Biography

Sophomore (Track): Capped off the indoor season with a 6th place finish in the 800m final at the NSIC Indoor Championships…member of the school record setting Distance Medley Relay team…member of championship 4 x 800 relay at the Sioux City Relays, where he also posted a personal best 1:57.52 in the open 800m

Sophomore (XC): Competed in all 6 meets, scoring in 5 of 6 for the Wolves. 8k pr of 28:10 at the USF Invite. Finished 60th at the NSIC Championships.

Freshman (Track): Finished 8th at NSIC Indoor Championships to score a point for the Wolves with an indoor pr of 1:59 for 800. Also member of the 4x400 relay team. Anchored Championship 4 x 800 team at the Sioux City Relays, splitting 1:58 for 800m.

Freshman (XC): Competed in 2 meets with an 8k PR of 29:37 before getting injured.
High School: State XC: Junior year 18th Senior year 7th. Personal best 16:55. Back to back team runner up. State Track: Senior year: 1st 4x800, 1st open 800, 2nd 4x400, 7th 1600. Team placed 6th. Personal bests: 52.5(400), 2:02(800), 4:40(1600), 10:20(3200)

Personal: Matt is the son of Paul Peterson and Mary Oleske of Estelline, SD…majoring in History Ed.
