Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams hit the road tomorrow, heading to the SDSU Division II Invite in Brookings. Competition opens at 1:30 p.m. with both field and running events. All events will take place from the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

• The Wolves opened 2023 with dual victories over Jamestown last weekend
• The men recorded a 107-17 victory, while the women won 105-20, notching a combined 25 event victories
• Event winners for the men included Joel Matehs (55m, 200m, 55m H), Seth Martens (400m), Dylan Schimke (800m), Jonathan Burkhalter (mile), Josh Martin (3000m), Vance Borchers (high jump, long jump, triple jump), Glen Quayle (pole vault), Ethan Barnett (shot put), and the 4x400m relay of Seth Martens, Carter Miller, Josh Martin, and Chase Domier

• Renea Taylor broke her own indoor school record in the 60m at the DWU Snow Tiger Invite, crossing the finish line in 7.60
• Josh Martin knocked down Matt Walberg's 2006 indoor mile record in the opening meet of the season, racing to a national provisional time of 4:10.18

 
WOLVES IN THE TOP-25 NATIONALLY

• Renea Taylor sits tenth in the 200m with a provisional time of 24.66, 25^th in the 400m with a time of 57.32, and 21^st in the 60m with a provisional time of 7.60
• Josh Martin is ranked 14^th in the mile with a provisional time of 4:10.18
• Jennifer Clark and Mary Franssen are 12^th and 13^th in the 800m with times of 2:16.68 and 2:16.77
