Wolves Track and Field Travels to Texas

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams will head south this Friday and Saturday for the West Texas A&M Jo Meaker Classic. Competition is set to begin at 1 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves opened the outdoor season last weekend at the USD Early Bird Meet
  • Northern tallied 19 top-10 finishes from the meet
  • The top-5 finishers for the Wolves included Jackson Harrison in the 5000m (2nd), Luke Schroeder in the 400m hurdles (3rd), Glen Quayle in the pole vault (3rd), Tanner Berg in the hammer (1st), Megan Mooberry in the 5000m (2nd), Shanice Burrell in the 100m hurdles (2nd), Shona Juliana in the long jump (5th), and Rachel Guthmiller in the javelin (3rd)
  • Burrell's time of 14.03 in the 100m hurdles currently ranks tenth in the country
  • Quayle ranks 16th nationally with his 4.92m pole vault mark, which broke the previous school record of 4.90m set by assistant coach Wade Royer in 2010
  • Berg's hammer throw of 65.32m ranks as the top in the country by nearly four meters
