Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams are set for the final meet of 2022, traveling to the DWU Snow Tiger Invite. Competition kicks off at 11 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, beginning with the multi events.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

• The Wolves opened the 2022-23 indoor season last weekend hosting the NSU Open against competitors from Dakota Wesleyan and Jamestown
• Northern tallied 20 event victories and two school records between the men and women
• Event winners on the men's side included Nick Olson (weight throw), Max Vande Kieft (long jump, high jump), Vance Borchers (triple jump), Ethan Barnett (shot put), Dan Istvanovich (400m), Noah Bayer (55m, 200m), Joel Matehs (55m hurdles), Glen Quayle (pole vault), and the 4x400m relay team of Matehs, Istvanovich, Carter Moller, and Caleb Schlekeway
• Event winners on the women's side included Shawney Coenraad (weight throw), Jordan Tschumperlin (high jump), Kenzee Danielson (pole vault), Renea Taylor (55m, 200m, 55m hurdles), Jennifer Clark (800m), and the 4x400m relay team of Vanessa Klein, Summer Carlson, Morgan Sheldon, and Sierra Sweeney

 
SCHOOL RECORD WATCH

• Renea Taylor broke the indoor 60m dash record at the NSU Open with a national provisional time of 7.61
• Josh Martin knocked down Matt Walberg's 2006 indoor mile record in the opening meet of the season, racing to a national provisional time of 4:10.18

• Renea Taylor sits third in the 200m with a provisional time of 24.66 and tenth in the 60m with a provisional time of 7.61
