Duluth, Minn. – The Northern State University track and field team kicked off the post season at the NSIC Outdoor Championships Thursday. Day one saw the decathlon and heptathlon in action.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
  • Elias Londahl stood in sixth place with 3268 total points after the first day of the men's decathlon; he timed an 11.46 in the 100m, 51.81 in the 400m, and distanced 6.47m in the long jump, marked 10.07m in the shot put, and jumped 1.76m in the high jump
  • With 2955 points on the day, Brener Conrad stands in nineth in the decathlon; he had times of 11.21 (100m), 53.11 (400m), and marks of 5.78m (long jump), 10.20m (shot put), and 1.55m (high jump)
 
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  •  Londahl set a personal best with his 11.46 100m time
 
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
  • Totaling 2865 total points in the heptathlon was Morgan Sheldon; her 14.73 100m hurdle and 26.83 200m times, along with her 1.54m high jump and 11.00m shot put marks landed her in fourth place after day one
  • At 13 with 2247 first day heptathlon points was Addison Cumbow; she crossed the finish line in 16.26 (100m hurdles) and in 29.15 (200m), and set marks of 1.48m (high jump) and 8.35m (shot put)
 
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • The 1.48m leap in the women's high jump was enough for Cumbow to set a new personal record
 
UP NEXT
The Wolves return for day two of the NSIC Outdoor Championships Friday, May 8. The men's decathlon 110m hurdles event will kick off the day at 9 a.m.
