Wayne, Neb. – The Northern State University track and field teams notched 14 top-5 finishes from the opening meet of the outdoor season with a smaller squad. In addition, the Wolves tallied three events wins from the Wildcat Classic in Wayne.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- The 4x100m relay team of Isabel Kinzer, Shona Juliana, Shanice Burrell, and Emma Rezac won the race with a time of 49.35
- Burrell went on to place fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.37
- Rezac added a third place finish in the 400m dash (1:01.19), followed by Destiny Wenger in eighth (1:05.73)
- Juliana tallied a runner-up finish in the 100m dash with a time of 12.58
- Kinzer notched a second place finish of her own in the 400m hurdles, crossing the line in 1:07.86
- Tori Collesso rounded out the top-10 in the 200m with a time of 28.94
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Bryce Malsam placed third in the high jump, clearing 1.80m (5-10.75)
- The 4x100m relay squad of Brady Janssen, Chase Domier, Isaac Olson, and Malsam took first in the event, crossing the line in 45.30
- Malsam added a second place finish in the 110m hurdles, notching a time of 16.12
- Terry Towah notched the first individual event victory for the Wolves, winning the 400m with a time of 49.52
- Tafara Hondonga was close behind in the 400m, taking second with a time of 50.36, while Seth Martens and Chase Domier took sixth and eighth with times of 52.36 and 53.41
- Kelson Brewer hit the track for the first time in over a year, taking second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.84, followed by Brady Janssen in fourth with a time of 1:01.80
- Riley Gauer and Olson placed fourth and sixth in the 200m with times of 23.87 and 24.04 respectively
