Provisional Marks and Records Fall for Northern from NSIC Indoor Championships

Mankato, Minn. – The Northern State University track and field teams recorded seven all-conference performances on day two of the NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships, with both teams landing in the top-10 overall.

MEN
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Isaiha Fletcher notched all-conference honors in the 400m dash, as the runner-up with a time of 49.79, and added a fifth place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 22.44
  • Devin Sheridan took third in the 600m run, crossing the finish line at 1:21.27 in the first all-conference performance of his individual career
  • Moving on to the distance events, Riccardo Done took sixth in the mile with a time of 4:20.02 and fourth in the 3000m run with a personal record time of 8:38.09
  • Bryce Malsam tallied two all-conference performances on day two, led off by a third place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.40
  • The senior went on to place second in the heptathlon scoring a national provisional mark of 5,295 points; recording marks of 3:00.69 in the 1000m run, 8.31 in the 60m hurdles, and 4.70m in the pole vault
  • Malsam mark also bested the previous NSIC Indoor record
  • Kelson Brewer placed seventh in the heptathlon with a score of 4,669; notching day two marks of 2:42.92 in the 1000m run, 8.81 in the 60m hurdles, and 4.50m in the pole vault
  • The 4x400m relay team of Devin Sheridan, Tafara Hondonga, Ronald Stephenson, and Isaiha Fletcher finished as the NSIC runner-up with a time of 3:20.71; the squad earned all-conference accolades in the event
  • Tanner Berg notched a fifth place finish in the shot put, throwing 15.25m
 
 
WOMEN
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Shanice Burrell tallied the first all-conference performance for the Wolves on the day, taking third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.81
  • The 4x400m relay team of Isabel Kinzer, Dakota Hutzler, Destiny Wenger, and Madison Barnes finished sixth overall with a time of 4:00.53
  • Dakota Hutzler finished third in the pentathlon with a provisional mark of 3,400
  • Her all-conference performance included marks of 2:31.01 in the 800m run, 9.32 in the 60m hurdles, 1.57m in the high jump, 5.36m in the long jump, and 9.78m in the shot put
 
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • Hutzler's pentathlon score broke the Northern State school record set by Hannah Treinen in 2014 (3,278 points)
