Mankato, Minn. – Through the opening day of the NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Northern State University track and field teams tallied two NSIC Championships, one school record, and advanced five athletes to Saturday finals.

MEN
HIGHLIGHTS
- Bryce Malsam and Kelson Brewer took on the heptathlon finishes the day in second (2913) and tenth (2279) respectively
- Malsam opened the day winning the 60m dash with a time of 7.26 and tallied marks of 6.64m in the long jump, 11.25m in the shot put, and 2.03m in the high jump
- Brewer notched marks of 7.36 in the 60m dash, 5.86m in the long jump, 10.10m in the shot put, and 1.61m in the high jump
- Malsam also advanced to the Saturday final of the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.43
- Isaiha Fletcher advanced to finals in both the 400m and 200m dashes; he holds the top time in the 400m at 49.71 and ranks fourth in the 200m with a time of 22.38
- Devin Sheridan will compete in Saturday's 600m run, advancing with the top time of 1:22.16
- Tafara Hondonga just missed finals in the event, crossing the finish line in 1:24.14
- Jackson Harrison tallied a seventh place finish in the 5000m run, notching a time of 15:17.97
- Malsam and Brewer concluded their day taking fourth and eighth in the pole vault, clearing 4.60m and 4.35m respectively
- Tanner Berg won the NSIC Championship in the weight throw, notching a 20.74m on his second throw of the meet
- Austin Eppard placed just out of the top-8, throwing 16.56m
WOMEN
HIGHLIGHTS
- Shanice Burrell advanced to finals with the fourth fastest time in the 60m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 8.86
- Tava Berg and Sonia Alaman scored for NSU in the high jump, taking fifth and eighth overall; the pair each cleared 1.60m (5-03.00) and place via judge's decision
- Kealy Hill tallied the first NSIC Championship for the Wolves from the meet, winning the pole vault with a school record mark of 4.01m (13-01.75)
- The vault is an NCAA auto-qualifying mark and defeated the second place finisher by over a foot
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Jackson Harrison tallied a personal record time in the 5000m
- Kealy Hill broke the Northern State pole vault record for the third time this season
