NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships Kick Off Tomorrow

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams are set for the NSIC Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday. Competition opens at 9:30 a.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday from the Myers Fieldhouse in Mankato. The top-8 in each individual event score team points, while the top-3 (top-2 in relay competition) earn NSIC All-Conference honors.
 
QUICK HITS ON THE NORTHERN STATE MEN
  • Isaiha Fletcher is seeded third heading into the Championships in the 200m with a seed time of 22.22
  • Fletcher is also seeded second in the 400m, followed by Ronald Stephenson in seventh
  • Devin Sheridan and Tafara Hondonga are seeded second and seventh in the 600m with times of 1:22.46 and 1:23.60 respectively
  • Riccardo Done enters the weekend sitting ninth in the mile with a time of 4:21.77 and eighth in the 3000m run with a time of 8:46.32
  • Bryce Malsam is seeded third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.27
  • Kelson Brewer, Zachary Burns, and Bryce Malsam all sit in the top-10 in the pole vault
  • Tanner Berg is seeded eighth in the shot put and holds the top seeded mark in the weight throw with marks of 15.08m and 21.50m
  • Brewer and Malsam will take on the heptathlon seeded fourth and tenth

  • Madison Barnes is seeded in the top-8 of the 400m, entering with a time of 58.37
  • Shanice Burrell enters the championships seeded sixth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.94
  • Tava Berg sits tenth in the high jump with a 1.65m mark
  • Kealy Hill is the favorite in the pole vault, holding down the top spot with a 3.96m mark; she is the only competitor to clear 3.70m this season
  • Jordan Menken sits sixth in the shot put, throwing 14.11m
  • Dakota Hutzler is seeded third in the pentathlon with a score of 3,229

SCHOOL RECORD WATCH
  • Tanner Berg re-broke his own weight throw record at the DWU Alumni Open, with a 21.50m throw; the toss was also a meet record and is the top mark in NCAA Division II
  • Jordan Menken broke the indoor shot put record, throwing 14.11m at the Northern State versus Jamestown dual
  • Isaiha Fletcher re-broke the 200m record by .03 seconds crossing the finish line at 22.05 at the SDSU Last Chance
  • Fletcher added his second record of the season at the NDSU Bison Open, notching a time of 34.92 in the 300m dash
  • Kealy Hill crushed her own school record in the pole vault from the NDSU Bison Open, clearing 3.96m and moving into the top-10 nationally in the event
